What is the Team Locker Room? How do I create a team? What is a team pin number? I have forgotten my pin number. What do I do? How do I join a team? How do I participate in the reading challenge once I join a team? How do I view my team’s progress? How do I clear my team’s activity? How do I delete a team? Can team members still redeem points for prizes while participating in the reading challenge? I still need help! Q: What is the Team Locker Room? A: The Team Locker Room is a feature on Book Adventure that allows groups to organize a reading challenge using the Book Adventure website. Here’s an overview of the this feature: A team leader is needed to set up the Team Name and Team Pin Number. A team leader may be a home student, parent or teacher. Once the Team Name and Team Pin Number is created, it should be given to the team members. This will be required in order for team members to join the team. Team members can only be students using Team Play accounts. School Student accounts cannot be a part of a team. If a member does not currently have a Team Play account, they should create an individual home student, parent or teacher account before attempting to join the team. Once a team member has joined a team, they will remain a part of the team until: a. the team member deletes themselves from the team b. the team leader removes the team member from the team c. the team leader deletes the entire team While a part of a team, every quiz that a team member completes and any points that are earned are applied to the team member’s individual account as well as the team’s cumulative score. If at anytime the team leader deems that the team’s activity needs to be reset, team leaders have the functionality to clear the team’s activity and start over. When a reading challenge is over, team leaders should print their team’s Report and submit it to the organizer of the contest to determine the winner of the reading challenge. back to top Q: How do I create a team? A: To create a team for a reading challenge, please complete these steps: You MUST login to your Home Student account, Parent or Teacher account before participating as a Team Leader. Once you have successfully logged into your account, or created a new Book Adventure account, return to the Team Locker Room and click on the create a team link. You will be prompted to enter a team name. Once you click Submit, the website will automatically create and display a Team Pin Number, which you will give to individuals who wish to join the team. The pin number cannot be changed. Your team members are now ready to join your team and start participating in the reading challenge. Q: What is a team pin number? A: A team pin number is a combination of letters and numbers that the website automatically assigns to each team to help differentiate the teams from each other. The pin number cannot be changed. back to top Q: I have forgotten my pin number. What do I do? A: Please email Book Adventure at bawebmaster@bookadventure.com to receive your team pin number. Be sure to include your team name to allow us to locate your team pin number. back to top Q: How do I join a team? A: To join a team, please complete these steps: You MUST login to your individual account before participating as a Team Member. Once you have successfully logged into your account, or created a new Book Adventure account, return to the Team Locker Room and click on the join a team link. Enter your Team Name and your Team Pin Number. When you have successfully joined the team, you will reach the Team Report displaying all of the team members and the results of your team’s activity. If you no longer wish to participate in the team, or have joined the wrong team, you should click on the "Remove Yourself from This Team" link on the Team Locker Room page. NOTE: A warning box will appear, because if you proceed with removing yourself from the team, you cannot undo the process. While you will keep the points that you have earned in your own account, the points will be removed from the team and no longer count towards the reading challenge. This action cannot be undone if you click “yes” to proceed. back to top Q: How do I participate in the reading challenge once I join a team? A: Once you have joined a team, you would participate in the reading challenge by reading books offline and then returning to the Book Adventure website to complete an online quiz. To determine whether a book has an online quiz on Book Adventure, utilize the Book Finder tool. To access a quiz on the book that you have read, utilize the Quiz-O-Matic tool. Q: How do I view my team’s progress? A: You can view your team’s progress report at anytime. To do so, you must be logged into your account. Once you are logged into your account, you may click the “Team Report” button located on the left toolbar. back to top Q: How do I clear my team’s activity? A: At the end of the reading challenge, or even during the reading challenge the team leader may clear a team’s activity on the Team Report page. Click the “Team Report” button located on the left side toolbar to reach this page. Once you are on the Team Report page, click the Clear Team Activity link. NOTE: A warning box will appear, because if you proceed with clearing your team’s activity from the website, it cannot be undone. The team’s activity will be reset to zero and you will have to begin the reading challenge from the beginning. This action cannot be undone if you click “yes” to proceed. back to top Q: How do I delete a team? A: At the end of the reading challenge, or if you create a team in error, a Team Leader may delete the team through the Team Report page. Click the “Team Report” button located on the left toolbar to reach this page. Once you are on the Team Report page, click the Delete Team link. NOTE: A warning box will appear, because if you proceed with deleting the team from the website, it cannot be undone. The team will be permanently removed. This action cannot be undone if you click “yes” to proceed. back to top Q: Can team members still redeem points for prizes while participating in the reading challenge? A: Yes. Team members earn individual points for the quizzes that they’re completing. They can redeem them for the prizes available in the Prize Library. Redeeming the points for prizes during the reading challenge will not effect the cumulative score that is recorded in the Team Locker Room Report box. back to top Q: I still need help!
